Equipment Operator I

 

Full-time Permanent

This individual will primarily assist in the daily operation of Riverside Cemetery including,

but not limited to, burial preparation and cemetery maintenance

such as snow removal and grounds maintenance.

This employee will also perform maintenance on street signs and solid

waste bins in the Town of Vegreville.

An employee in this classification will operate, but is not limited to;

trucks, compactors, snow removal equipment, sanding truck, water and sewer equipment,

skid steer, and other medium type mobile equipment.

 

Suitable candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of Grade 12 and one year direct experience in the operation of                                                     medium type mobile equipment
  • Capable of working with minimum supervision
  • Capable of maintaining a professional relationship with employer(s), fellow employees,                          and the general public
  • Must distinguish information that is sensitive in nature, utilizing sound judgement,

professionalism and an appropriate level of confidentiality

  • Physically capable of performing assigned duties. (Medical may be required)
  • Possess and retain a valid Class 5 Alberta Operators License with “Q” endorsement
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Comprehensive employee benefit package is available

 

Salary Range: $42,907 or $20.63/hour - $53,145 or $25.56/hour

Salary to commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience.

Addictions Counselor

(Maternity cover off, 1 year period)

 

Opportunity:

The Addictions Counselor works out of the Veg Al-Drug Society Office in Vegreville.

As an Addictions Counselor, your major areas of responsibility as part of the Community Addiction

team will include: providing intake, assessment and counseling services to individuals,

families and groups; being familiar with, and make appropriate referrals to community

agencies and groups; researching, developing and evaluation alcohol, other drug and gambling

prevention programs and projects including community presentation; and providing consultation to individuals, agencies and groups with respect to substance abuse and gambling.

 

Qualifications:

Completion of a degree in the Social Sciences or related to Social Sciences or

Social Work Degree or Diploma (must be registered with College of Social Workers),

plus some related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

A valid Alberta driver’s license is required, as some travel is involved.

A criminal record and Child Welfare check will be required.

4th Year Apprentice or Red Deal Journeyman Mechanic (HET)

The Municipal Services Department of the Town of Vegreville has an opening

for a 4th Year Apprentice or Red Seal Journeyman Mechanic.

This employee works under the supervision of the Head Mechanic.

An employee in this classification will assist in and perform the maintenance and repair of all

 Town owned vehicles and equipment, as well as perform maintenance and repairs at the

water pump houses and reservoirs, sewage pumping stations, storm lift stations, and on

stationary engines as directed by the Municipal Services Manager.

When directed, the employee will provide technical supervision and support to employees

when they are assisting with maintenance and repair work on Town vehicles and equipment.

 

Suitable candidates will possess the following qualifications:

-          Minimum of grade 12

-          Qualifies as a HET 4th Year Apprentice or Red Seal Journeyman as per the                                                 Alberta Provincial Regulation

-          Capable of working with minimum supervision

-          Physically capable of performing assigned duties (Medical may be required)

-          Possess and retain a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator’s License and willing to obtain                                       Q” Endorsement and Class 3 License

-          First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation are considered to be assets in this position

 

Salary Range:  $61,713 ($29.67/hr) - $79,935 ($38.44/hr)

 

Salary to commensurate with education and qualifications.
