Seeking creative, enthusiastic individual for an Educational Assistant

position responsible for before school (7:30-9), afterschool (3:30-5),

and noon hour programming (11:30-1:00).

This part-time position is 2 days per week, Tuesdays & Thursday s for 4.5 hours per day.

 

Responsibilities: 

To engage students in age appropriate activities and ensure their safety prior to start of school,

after school and during the noon hour.

 

Qualifications: 

Grade 12.

First Aid/CPR.

Child Care certification and experience working in Early Childhood

and/or Head Start Programs would be an asset.

ECS Teacher for Accredited Preschool Program

Seeking an enthusiastic and creative teacher to spearhead our inclusive play-based pre-school;

a place ‘before’ school where children learn how to learn from each other.

 

Job Responsibilities:

·         Plan for and implement a variety of educational techniques to engage young children

(story-telling, self-directed and guided play, centre activities, media etc.)

·         Collaborate with other educators (Preschool Aides, Educational Assistants,

Early Education Coordinator) to develop a careful and creative program suitable for

children ages 3 and 4.

·         Observe and interact with children to help them improve their

social competencies and develop school-readiness skills

·         Maintain regular communication with parents, both face-to-face and via

bulletin displays and social media

 

Job Requirements:

·         Degree in Education is required.

Elementary or Special Education specialization is an asset.

Permanent Teacher Certification may be obtained with our private school.

·         An understanding of the principles of early learning,

child development and pre-school educational methods.

·         Familiarity with the language and practices of

“Play, Participation and Possibilities:

An Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework for Alberta,”

as well as the Alberta Education Kindergarten Program Statement.

·         An ability to act as mediator between children

·         A willingness to collaborate to maintain an inclusive program.

·         Experience working with children experiencing developmental

delays/difficulties is an asset

·         Early Childhood First Aid training (employment conditional pending completion)

·         Intervention and Criminal Record, including vulnerable sector checks

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

Parks Seasonal Labourer

The Parks & Fleet Department of the Town of Vegreville has an opening for a                                       Seasonal Labourer position. The Parks Seasonal Labourer works under the supervision of the                        Parks Foreman. An employee in this classification will be engaged in all sectors of the                                       Parks & Fleet Department for the Town. This employee will carry out Town related work as necessary which involves manual labour and includes the operation of some power equipment and medium-type mobile equipment.

 

Suitable candidates will possess the following qualifications:

·         Minimum Grade 12 and one-year direct experience in the operation of                                            medium-type mobile equipment

·         Possess and retain a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator’s License

·         Capable of working with minimal supervision

·         Physically capable of performing assigned duties (medical may be required)

·         Capable of maintaining a professional relationship with employer(s), fellow employees,

and the general public

·         Have a good working knowledge of Safety Standards and Practices and the ability

and desire to implement them

·         First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation are considered to be assets in this position

 

Wage Range: $19.50/hour - $24.15/hour

high quality recreational programming to our Residents.

Activities Convenor, Full-time Mon-Fri (38.75 hours/week: 8:00am – 4:15pm)

This person will be responsible for

creating and implementing a monthly calendar along

with designing a recreation program that meets the creative, spiritual, social

and physical needs of our Residents.

Involvement in community clubs and organizations in and around the Town of Vegreville

 is a definite asset.

Previous home-care/day program experience preferred.

 

Independent Living Assistants- Permanent Part-time days

(51 hours in 2 weeks; 0.66FTE),

Temporary Part Time evenings (48.75 hours in 2 weeks; 0.63FTE)

and casual/relief for all shifts.

 ILA duties include assisting

Residents with bathing, grooming and dressing; medication administration

 and reminders; housekeeping; meal service; and observing Residents’ condition. 

HCA certification or equivalent is preferred.
